Mass Effect 5: 10 Fan Demands We Need To See
2. Romance Options That Mean Something
Romance options have always been a staple of the Mass Effect franchise. Giving you the ability to be a space-age Casanova, a big part of every game so far has been focused on finding a partner to journey the stars with.
But the problem is that outside of the hub worlds and the ship, these relationships don't have much impact on the main story. There are only a few unique situations where romance effects anything in the gameplay, and Bioware is missing a trick by not putting these relationships in jeopardy over the course of a game's story.
Titles like Uncharted 4 have proven that relationships between characters in blockbuster action games can give the narrative an emotional depth without sacrificing the fun in the process. If the developers are going to put so much time into the romance options in Mass Effect then, they might as well integrate them more seamlessly into the main story and actually make them count for something.
