1. Do The Events Of The Original Trilogy Even Matter?
Here's a question that'll split fans right down the middle; would you want a new Mass Effect that completely did away with all the continuity from the first game? Not talking lore being up for use here - just continuity. No Reaper invasion, no Star Child exposition, no universe-reset at the hands of Shepard and his cohorts - a clean swipe and start again. Is that the best course of action now? Bioware note that the events of Andromeda take place "long after" those of the first trilogy, which is about as vague as it gets. The main problem to deal with is whatever ending you chose for the close of 3, the universe was always irrevocably changed for the worse. Perhaps Bioware could swing a story where you're so many millions of lightyears away from these events that life has simply carried on without noticing, but it's almost entirely better if 'The Shepard's' travels and implications simply disappear altogether. What do you make of the reveal, and the idea of an entirely new Mass Effect? Let us know in the comments!
