The news that there would be two separate Ryders co-existing in the same universe was surprising enough, but it seems that their interactions may not be limited to strictly cutscenes and dialogue. Creative director Mac Walters has alluded that the two will certainly have a family dynamic, with it sounding like it was more than just having your sister as a companion option.

The family dynamic will certainly play a big part in the development of the story and characters, so the possibility is definitely there. It's difficult to say the capacity in which you'd be able to control your sibling (it may end up being the equivalent of the control available with companions in the original trilogy), but the options available within the story to implement full control over both characters would certainly be a joy to experience.

Likelihood of being true: 4/10. This may indicate that more control over companions will be possible rather than explicit control over both Ryder siblings, but Bioware seems poised to allow players more control over gameplay and the direction of the storyline than ever before. Control over the two may not be the specific end-game, but the option's definitely open.
