Mass Effect Andromeda: 9 Exciting New Rumours You Need To Know
2. Multiplayer Is Back (And It May Involve Building/Attacking Colonies)
Mass Effect 3's multiplayer was seen by many as either fun but unremarkable or unnecessary. With many single player-focused games nowadays developing more in-depth multiplayer modes, such as Uncharted 4, Bioware will want to hook the multiplayer crowd too while still remaining true to the game itself. The multiplayer will need to expand if Bioware wants players to try it out, and the news regarding a potential colony-building mode would definitely up the ante on Mass Effect multiplayer.
The mode is believed to be a "build up, defend/attack" kind of mode that focuses on offensive and defensive strategy. It's unclear how deep the mode would be or what other modes would be available to play. The multiplayer aspect is guaranteed to come back, but a base-building defend-and-conquer may help set Mass Effect Online from other online experiences.
Likelihood of being true: 3/10. Although it'd certainly be a change of pace in comparison to the basic online experience for Mass Effect 3, this may be too far out of left-field to stick in a game that's primarily a third-person RPG shooter. It remains to be seen what modes WILL be there, but this mode may not exactly fit in with the kind of online experience fitting for this installment in the ME series.
