It was confirmed a while ago that whichever Ryder you choose to play as, your sibiling will co-exist in the game.
The trailers have been focusng a lot of Scott Ryder as the chief protagonist, but here we see Sara Ryder in a spot of trouble. A prisoner of the Archon and the Kett, she is heard screaming “they have access”, presumably referring to the Nexus or the ARK.
A previous trailer had the Archon speaking the line, “now I know what makes you special.” Perhaps the Ryder’s have some sort of unique blood or DNA that links them to the Archon’s goals. That would explain why he goes after Sara.
Unless it’s a coincidence, of course.
Alarmingly, it also looks like they are on board the Tempest. The interior doesn’t suggest a Kett craft. There is also another crew member lying besides her.
We’ve already speculated that Alec Ryder won’t last long in the game, paving the way for a new Pathfinder, but could the same be said for your sibling?
