Metal Gear Rising Revengeance: 10 Reasons It Won't Live Up To The Hype

4. Competition

Platinum Games must be hating the fact that not only has the Devil May Cry reboot, DmC, just been released, but it's also been released to an unexpected bout of fervent critical acclaim, with many citing that it just might be one of the best games in the entire series. Shame, then, that given the mixed notices Revengeance has already received from fans and the gaming press, it's going to struggle to compete against a critically acclaimed title from a well-established series, whereas Revengeance is a spin-off title that's an entirely different genre and tonal style to the original series. It's a bout of bad timing on the developers' part, and on the basis of this demo, Platinum really haven't delivered the goods to compete with such a mechanically strong, artistically competent title, honours of which Revengeance appears rather dubious.
