Monster Hunter: World - 10 Hardest Monsters (And How To Beat Them)

8. Anjanath

Monster Hunter World Nergigante
Capcom

Resemble the fearsome T-Rex it may, but the only thing you'll achieve by playing dead in front of this prehistoric relic will be a free trip back to camp. Anjanath represents the first true test of your hunting skills, so bring your A-game, or else you'll end up nought but another statistic promoting its status as Monster Hunter: World's resident noob stomper.

That means stocking up on potions, potions and more potions, though beware that chugging health restoratives will only get you so far - go the extra mile and dine on an elemental resistance-boosting meal before heading into its domain.

That'll keep you safe from the dino's roasting-hot breath when it's not enraged, but the moment it sprouts wings and a strange growth on its snout, you'll want to stay away from the business end of this hulking mass.

Don't fret over severing its tail for your first kill, either. Compared with other prey, the appendage poses little threat. Instead, keep chipping away at Anjanath's health - wary not to get caught by its charge attack - while using vine and boulder traps wherever possible to keep it rooted and eventually, the Jurassic Park reject will flee back to its nest for a final showdown.
