Monster Hunter: World - 10 Hardest Monsters (And How To Beat Them)

3. Diablos

Monster Hunter World Nergigante
Capcom

As the apex predator of Wildspire Wastes, you'll find Diablos either strolling around or taking a nap in its sand-filled underground cavern. Whichever it is, as soon as you make your presence known, it'll fly into a fit of unending rage.

It'll go against your instincts, but staying underneath this legendary series regular as much as possible is the safest place to be. Here, you'll be out of harm's way from his concussion-inducing tail swipe and goring horns, only needing to reposition when it winds up for a charge attack.

Tempted to strike from behind after the charge you will be, but this is a rookie mistake. Diablos will always follow-up with two mighty swings of its clubbed tail, so don't engage here. Instead, let him come to you and resume picking at his underbelly just as before.

Last but not least, combo-heavy weapon users should pay close attention to Diablos' devastating burrowing attack. You won't have enough time to evade the oncoming molehill if you're in an animation, and even with upgraded armour, it has the potential to cart you in one hit.
