In Liu Kang's new universe, Shao Kahn has been revised into Outworld's army commander, General Shao.

Despite his demotion, the former arch-villain is not to be trifled with. Now sprouting two devilish horns and his ugly mug on full-display, Shao has never looked so intimidating. Disgruntled with his station in life, Shao is desperate to rule, making him more dangerous than ever.

Shao's appearance isn't the only thing to receive a makeover, since his move-set has has been overhauled. Instead of his iconic spear projectile and charge attack, Shao has a new and vastly superior arsenal.

His knee launch is lethal whether a foe is near, far, on the ground, or in the air. His Dark Energy protects him from above, safeguarding him from jumping attacks. His Death Quake is tough to dodge, since it can't miss his opponent while they're touching the floor.

And with his trusty mallet, Shao can toss his enemies upward, allowing him to finish them off with a ruthless kombo or air attack.

Although Shao only has one weakness, it's a big one. Because of his tortoise-like speed, Shao telegraphs his attacks, giving his enemies ample time to dodge or counter. If Shao did a bit more cardio, he would be unstoppable.
