Mortal Kombat 10: 10 Things We Want To See
Kiefer Sutherland let slip he'd been voicing some characters in the next MK, but can it continue the last game's success?
In 2011, NetherRealm Studios released Mortal Kombat 9, one of the greatest iterations in the franchise's history following the over-hyped Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. In MK9 NetherRealm Studios cleverly reset the convoluted MK Universe, having the game cover all of the events from the original games by having Lord Raiden attempting to change the outcome of Shao Kahn's invasion of Earth Realm. NetherRealm Studios returned to the roots of Mortal Kombat, paying homage to what made the franchise so great while giving everything and everyone a revamped look without alienating the hardcore enthusiasts. Since MK9's well-received release, there has been no news of the eventual sequel, until actor Kiefer Sutherland revealed in an interview with IGN that he had just completed voice work for the next Mortal Kombat video game! With no word officially coming from creator Ed Boon or NetherRealm Studios, fans have begun speculating what could be in store for the tenth instalment of a franchise that has withstood the test of time for twenty years. Although MK9 was a polished and wonderful entry into the series, it wasn't without its shortcomings as some fans expressed disappointment in the exclusion of certain characters, the dark turn of the storyline, as well as certain elements from previous games such as Deception and Deadly Alliance that they had grown to appreciate. In honour of the soon-to-be tenth entry into the bloodthirsty, envelope-pushing video game title, here are ten things fans are hoping to see in MKX.
