Mortal Kombat: 10 Crazy Things You Didn’t Know
6. Scorpion's Voice Actor Lost His Job Via Trailer
When you've been playing a character for a while, it's safe to assume you'll get attached to them. Patrick Seitz got the job of voicing the iconic Scorpion in Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe in 2008 and played him for MK9 and MKX, so you've got to imagine he felt a connection to the undead ninja. Imagine, then, finding out you'd been recast via a trailer. Ouch.
After the announcement trailer for the eleventh Mortal Kombat game was released in 2018, plenty of excitement was stirred. But, one person who wasn't too pleased to see the clip was Seitz, who took to Twitter to tell everyone that he didn't even know his role had been recast.
Well, that's a hell of a way to find out I'm not voicing Scorpion in #MortalKombat11... https://t.co/wdSrxGQoHS

Scorpion ended by being played by Ron Yuan, who did an excellent job. Still, there's no denying that no one wants to find out they've lost their job this way. Thankfully for Seitz, he has since delved back into playing the yellow-clad fighter, having voiced him in the animated Mortal Kombat Legends movies.
If you're wondering who is voicing good old Scorps' in MK1, it's neither Yuan nor Seitz.
Daisuke Tsuji, who you may know as Jin in Ghosts of Tsushima, will play the rebooted version of the character. This new Scorpion is actually Kuai Liang, the second Sub-Zero, so some big changes are coming.
