Mortal Kombat: 10 Terrible Characters NetherRealm Want You To Forget
2. Kobra
We're ever-so-close to the number one spot now, but there's just the sorry matter of Ken, sorry, Kobra, to clean up before we get there. To Midway's credit, they never attempted to hide the blatant Street Fighter rip-off that is this character. When they were still in the early stages of designing Kobra, the internal name for the him was - funnily enough - Ken Masters. In fact, so similar were the two character's likeness, that publications that received early screenshots actually wondered whether Kobra was, in actual fact, the first instance of a Capcom/MK crossover (that would be so cool). But nope, Kobra's just a derisive waste of space with no individuality to be proud of. Flaming punches, fast kicks and yes, even energy balls i.e. Hadoukens were included as part of the his repertoire of attacks. Oh, you're wondering if he at least had some kind of interesting origin story? Nah, Kobra's just another one of the Black Dragon's little peons that's undoubtedly on NetherRealm's 'Never include in another MK game ever again' list.
