Mortal Kombat 11 featured Kronika, the Keeper of Time, attempting to create a new era after Raiden's constant changes to the timeline. To stop him, she brings past heroes and villains into the present to restore things to her liking. This leads to characters like Shao Kahn teaming up with newer villains such as D'Vorah.

At the climax of the Story Mode, Raiden unites a huge army to storm Kronika's Keep.

The army is comprised of the Special Forces led by Cassie Cage, Jacqui Briggs, and Jax, with Scorpion and Sub Zero joining in. At the same time, Kung Lao brings the White Lotus Society, a group of warrior monks while Kitana recruits the Tarkatans and Shokans who are led by Baraka and Sheeva respectively.

If that's not enough, Raiden merges his essence into Revenant Liu Kang. This cleanses the corruption within the fallen hero and turns him into a fire god able to resist Kronika's powers. Liu Kang, now imbued with the powers of Raiden and aided by a huge army of different groups, leads the charge and decimates Kronika's forces.

This moment is the Avengers: Endgame portals scene for many Mortal Kombat fans as it united several groups in the ultimate final battle.
