Mortal Kombat Movie: Every Character Confirmed So Far

The Elder God of Thunder has a part to play, leading the team of heroes in some way as they fight to save Earthrealm. This is a consistent role for Raiden as he has served in this capacity over numerous games, frequently leading the good guys against the Outworld threat. It stands to reason, as the most experienced hero, he'd fulfill this role in the film as well.

Raiden is usually depicted as one of the more powerful heroes, using his lightning powers to assist him in battle and putting them to great effect when brutally dispatching his rivals. He has a variety of moves at his disposal, like the teleport, but let's hope he has some time to show off his iconic lightning dash attack.

He's been featured as a main character since 2011; the last he was seen in 11, he became Evil Raiden with red lightning like he was in Deception. It's unlikely this will happen in the film, but it's definitely possible should the film series go on. Regardless, seeing the Thunder God in live action again will be a treat.
