Mortal Kombat Movie Reboot: 8 Things We Need To See

4. A Decent Rendition Of Classic Stages

Equally iconic as the moves, slogans and names, are the elaborately sinister stages of Mortal Kombat. Sadly, this is something which has been firmly lacking in previous attempts to realise the games in a live-action format. It's a shame, because they were awesome, and now is the time to see justice done.

Fantasy action films of the 80s and 90s were forced to make the best of their limited tools to create amazing environments, but modern CGI can allow for anything the filmmakers come up with. Consequently, with the next MK movie, pretty much anything is possible.

In short, this should mean some suitably spectacular settings, reminiscent of our favourite MK arenas, which could now look dazzling. Imagine fusing the gritty gothic architectures of Shang Tsung and Shao Kahn's battlegrounds with the swirling richly-coloured other-worldliness of the Outworld and beyond, all in one film.

The Pit? Goro's Lair? Forest of the Dead? They're just the tip of the iceberg. Let's flesh out the world of Mortal Kombat in the next reboot, good and proper.
