9. Kain

One of the more famous vampires in video game history, Kain, would easily find a home in Mortal Kombat. With his trusted Soul Reaver sword at his side to cut through everyone that stands in front of him, he would more than be able to stand his own against the likes of Scorpion and Raiden. Kain has gone through very drastic stylistic changes as the years have progressed, and that could translate well into MK's overall aesthetic. Also it's been over a decade since we have seen Kain stylised in a video game, and the improvements we have seen in graphics would make a resurrection of him all the better. Styles could go between his older and more decrepit look in Legacy of Kain: Defiance, or the younger version from the two Blood Omen games. An ability/fatality of Kain's that could feature would be his telekinetic blood-sucking, seen in the aforementioned games. He is able to suck the blood out of victims from multiple feet away as it streams into his mouth. This could set up a good fatality as he drains his opponent of blood from across the stage, just for their body collapses to the ground. Also, add in the Soul Reaver sword and its many enhancements leading to different playstyles, and Kain's special moves and abilities just quadrupled.
