Mortal Kombat X: 10 Huge Problems Nobody Wants To Admit
5. The Netcode Is Atrocious
Now this is the one thing that's slowly overturning the general goodwill surrounding the game's critical reviews, as for whatever reason NetherRealm just can't seem to get the online portion of their games working. It's not like we're talking in relation studying specific frames of animation for how and when to unleash your best moves, opening up possibilities to complain when online showdowns aren't airtight - instead even finding a match is nigh-on impossible, the Faction screen never loads, and if you do get into a match there's a 90% chance you're playing a slideshow rather than anything close to a stable frame rate. This isn't the first time either - in fact an exact mirror of this situation happened in 2011 when MK 9 released, as that game saw literal months of work being done to get it working to speed. To be blunt, it's simply unacceptable - especially on the newest and most capable hardware on the market, but as we've seen in everything from Driveclub to Halo's Master Chief Collection, something about these new machines just doesn't play well with others - and it's getting more and more ridiculous.
