4. Tower Endings Are Unsatisfying
Eventually after clocking the story mode you'll dive into the Traditional Towers, battling your way through 10 opponents (including Goro and Shinnok) to get your requisite character's ending 'cutscene'. However, they're not really cutscenes - instead just very short (like maybe 5-10 images) animated comics of the barest description around what happened post that final fight. Some of them are cool by definition (such as Sub-Zero inheriting a dragon army for the next game or Liu Kang appointing himself ruler of Netherrealm), but they're all over way too soon, eliciting a response of "Oh... okay" more than anything worthwhile. If you want some comparison stats, dive over to Youtube and search for "Mortal Kombat 9/X endings", you'll find 2011's entry had a cumulative cutscene-total of almost 38 minutes, whereas X has a paltry 20. It speaks for itself.
