6. Shang Tsung

Speaking of characters that can enact the most goriest of moves from across the room, uber-lord Shang Tsung is yet to show up across any of the pre-release trailers or in-game assets. A conjurer of souls, his general approach to combat over the past few instalments has been to steal other players movesets, with 2011's MK having him morph into them visually just to throw you off too. The real fun comes with the forcible extraction of anyone's soul, the core animation of which has seen NetherRealm animate everything from tearing people in half to literally morphing inside a person only to force them to pull off their own head. He's a downright fun character, a series regular with more instalments under his belt than most, and considering how much NetherRealm love to experiment with his abilities on every new iteration of the in-game hardware, whatever they've got in store for MK X by way of Tsung's Fatalities will be quite the treat.
