NBA 2K18 My GM Tips: 30 Franchise-Saving Trades You Must Make
21. Charlotte Hornets
Players out (position, rating, contract length/value, age):
Cody Zeller C 77 4 yrs/56M 25, Marvin Williams PF 76 2 yrs/27.2M 31
Players in:
Nikola Mirotic PF 76 1 yr/$7.23M 26, Robin Lopez C 76 2 yrs/$28.2M 29
Why it makes sense:
This deal is not only about cap space, which the Hornets so desperately need. Mirotic and Lopez have the same skills as the players they're traded away for, but are much cheaper.
Apart from that, Zeller was a backup anyway, while Williams was an aging starter and this is where the trade starts to make more sense.
At just 26, Mirotic can become the starting power forward for years to come and with his lethal three-point shooting he can ignite the offense instantly.
With Dwight Howard under the basket, the team should be already better at slowing down their opponents, so a offensive-minded big man should fit in nicely next to the former Defensive Player of the Year.
