Why it makes sense:
Knowing Ricky Rubio's injury history, the Jazz need a solid backup for him, and with the other point guards on the roster being rated at 73, Barea will nicely fit that role.
Alec Burks is a reserve, and his deal doesn't look all that good when taking into consideration that he's just a backup. Matthews can immediately become the team's sixth man or play alongside Rodney Hood when moved to the small forward position.
If the move doesn't improve your team this season, remember that once Matthews leaves you'll have almost $20M in cap space to use in free agency.
