NBA 2K18 My GM Tips: 30 Franchise-Saving Trades You Must Make
3. Portland Trail Blazers
Players out (position, rating, contract length/value, age):
Evan Turner SF 74 3 yrs/$53.6M 28, Meyers Leonard PF 70 3 yrs/$31.79M, '21 second round pick
Players in:
Bobby Portis PF 76 1 yr + 1 yr team/$1.52M 22, Robin Lopez C 76 2 yrs/$28.15M 29
Why it makes sense:
The Blazers need cap space desperately and this trade gives them something to work with in free agency without affecting the overall quality of the roster. The team has three similarly-talented small forwards, which makes Turner the odd man out because of the size of his contract.
The Bulls' players can become starters either immediately (Portis, as the best power forward on the roster is rated at 73) or after the season (Lopez, if Nurkic demands too much), but getting rid of these two large contracts is actually more important than the return package.
