Why it makes sense:
The Cavs are good the way they are, however this is Thomas' contract year and in order to keep him you'll need to spend more than around $7M a season, which he's earning right now.
If he doesn't fulfil your expectations, you'll get a nice compensation by trading him in the mid-season, but the better move is trading away Kevin Love.
Saric is a player for the future and his contract gives him two years to slowly grow into the role of the Cavs' starting power forward. He'll never be as good of a rebounder as Love, but his shooting is something to work with. Redick will be the starting shooting guard for the season and can be a vital contributor with his three point shooting.
