NBA 2K19 The Prelude: 5 Ups & 3 Downs
Ups...
5. Difficulty Scales Up Nicely
On the plus side, newbies can expect time to figure out 2K19's controls. The difficulty scales smartly in The Prelude, as it should, and there are ample chances to figure out why that Point Guard keeps slipping past, or when to reach-in and when to stay patient on defence.
The first team you'll face (the Jets) aren't exactly slick. They're prone to sloppy passes, turnovers and missed shots. This forgiving introduction to MyCareer's mechanics, along with a super-handy hud display that points towards the player you should be marking, is a blessing.
By the time you meet LeBron James and the NBA All-Star roster, you should be well-versed on the basics of defending and how to spring a counter attack. 2K have done a stellar job making sure each match becomes a little tougher than the last, and they managed that without treating the player like an idiot.
Series veterans will like the All-Star challenge too.
