NBA 2K19 The Prelude: 5 Ups & 3 Downs
1. Stupid Time Out Calls
The Prelude puts you in the shoes of one character, and it doesn't allow for any on-the-fly coaching changes or tactical tweaks. That's not a huge problem, unless you consider random time out calls when your teammates are just about to sink a shot problematic.
That happened more than once during our play through, and it was infuriating.
Pulling off that defence-splitting pass to a pal in the paint, only for the coach to call for a counter-productive team talk and kill the play, felt ludicrous. Not only is this unrealistic, it's also silly to expect players to put up with time out buzzers at inopportune times, especially when they're nailed on to to take a well-earned lead or claw some points back.
The first one was put down to coincidence, but the second? No, no that has to be a bug, and it's potentially game-breaking if 2K don't delete it; random time outs shouldn't impact other modes where the player has more control. That doesn't fix the fact it's happening in MyCareer.
