Nintendo NX: 8 Reasons It's Already Doomed

5. Nintendo Fans Are Jaded

Of course, every video game company has its die hard fans €“ people who will follow the company blindly into new territory, supporting their decisions both good and sometimes bad. Nintendo is no different. That being said...

Fans have been burnt once before. For every fanboy there's a couple dozen others who take longer to think and are slower to act. When it first launched, the Wii U promised a whole lot. It was going to reinvigorate the hardcore fans who became frustrated with the Wii. There was going to be amazing asynchronous multiplayer (that is, multiplayer that used the gamepad to explore the balance between participants). It was going to do online right.

Many of these things didn't come true. The gamepad ended up feeling like an utterly wasted opportunity, and online remains extremely basic. For these reasons many Nintendo fans will hold off on sinking their cash into another big question mark. They'll wait for a while. Six months. Maybe a year.

They'll see how things are looking further on down the line, and that's not good for Nintendo.
