Nintendo NX: 9 New Rumours You Need To Know
5. Luigi's Mansion 3 Is A Launch Title
When Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon launched in 2013 for the Nintendo 3DS, many fans were a little bit disappointed that it wasn't another console entry, with better graphics, a better atmosphere and the more open-world approach of the original Gamecube version.
Well, fear not – rumour suggests that Dark Moon was merely a form of practice for Next Level Games, who threw out Dark Moon while working on a much bigger entry in the franchise. Originally set to show up on Wii U, Luigi's Mansion 3 is one of the many games that was shifted to the NX during development.
A quick look at Next Level Games software history backs this up. Recently their productivity has been uncharacteristically low. On several instances in the past (2007, 2009 and 2010) the developer released multiple games in the same year, and every release was console-based – whereas since Dark Moon three years ago they've released nothing at all, and only have Metroid Prime: Federation Force (a handheld title) in the pipeline.
