Nintendo NX: 9 New Rumours You Need To Know

6. Its Software Line-Up Will Be Unparalleled

There's been speculation in the past regarding the number of games Nintendo are likely to release on the NX. This is because the Wii U is infamous for its paltry software support – with very little in the way of third party releases, the console sometimes saw several month long droughts, with this only getting worse as console sales levelled out at a disastrously low level.

A new rumour, however, suggests that fan speculation on better software support is entirely right – and then some. Not only has Nintendo been secretly halting development on many Wii U games in order to transfer them to NX (remember when Miyamoto said Pikmin 4 was “very close to completion” last year?), it has also completely reinvented way the it develops and produces software, the aim being that the company can create enough high quality games to sustain a healthy line-up even without third party support.

In fact, it's reported that the NX will amass a larger number of games in one or two years than the Wii U did in its entire lifespan, with the goal being to shoot for the highest output of first party software Nintendo has ever managed.
