Nintendo Switch: 10 Console Features It Desperately Needs
8. Wii U Content
Because of how poorly the Wii U performed, it's understandable that Nintendo want to distance themselves from it as much as possible and start afresh.
However, that would be a big mistake.
The people who are most likely to buy a Switch most likely also bought a Wii U at some point. Because of this, the Switch is going to need to find a way to offer some options to Wii U owners when upgrading.
One simple way would be to offer save data transfers for some of the games like Breath of the Wild and Mario Kart 8, which would be a great way of advertising the practicality of the Switch. Some games could even offer bonuses for Wii U owners, like if Splatoon 2 offered the ability to port all of the unlocks from the first game, for example.
This connection between the Wii U and the Switch might just be what convinces players to upgrade from the last generation. A fun touch would be to allow for Miis to be transferable between consoles, just for that extra level of personality.
