Nintendo Switch: 10 Essential Wii U Ports That Need To Happen

8. Super Mario Maker

The Game: Super Mario Maker. It's a total shame Mario Maker released so late in the Wii U's lifespan, dropping at the close of 2015. By then it was clear that Nintendo was spending a lot of time shifting its focus from the Wii U to the Nintendo Switch, meaning potential for extra content was limited by other priorities.

The Improvement: The best way to remedy this would be to port the game to the Nintendo Switch. Yes, it's getting a 3DS port, but it's the sort of game that benefits from being played on the big screen. The game was wildly popular, with millions of inventive courses being created by fans, so there's no reason to abandon it yet.

Instead, Nintendo could add a whole host of new content. How amazing would it be to see styles from lesser known or more unique Mario titles, like Super Mario Bros. 2? What about showing some love for the classic Game Boy styles such as Super Mario Land or Six Golden Coins?

Then there are other improvements, like the inclusion of slope tiles (come on, Nintendo - where are they?!). Add to that the ability to upload collections of levels rather than just one and a more coherent search/filter system and the port would be incredible.
