9. Splatoon
The Game: Splatoon. Again, this is a title that showed up in the Switch reveal trailer, but hasn't been confirmed as an actual port. Given the appearance of new maps and cosmetics, however, it seems incredibly likely.
The Improvement: Like Mario Kart 8, Splatoon is a game that's core gameplay is fantastic. More maps, weapons and a greater variety of cosmetics for the Inklings would be some nice incentives to pick it up again. But a do-over would be the perfect opportunity to improve some of the games multiplayer functions - that is where the main appeal lies, after all.
How about giving players the ability to text chat in private battle lobbies? The ability to save gear and weapon presets? How about highlight reels so players can re-watch the most exciting moments of any given match? And what about LAN multiplayer?
The possibilities for improving Splatoon's multiplayer functionality are endless.
