Nintendo Switch: 10 Game Reveals You Might Have Missed

2. Puyo Puyo Tetris

Puyo Puyo Tetris, a peculiar blend of Sega's blob-matching puzzler and the iconic Tetris blocks, finally comes worldwide with the Nintendo Switch launch.

You may remember Puyo Puyo not only as Puyo Pop, but also as Kirby's Avalanche and Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine. It has been handled by Sega exclusively ever since, with most releases staying in Japan.

Tetris, however... is Tetris. Does that really need an introduction? Everyone's played Tetris before.

This anniversary game mixes both addictive puzzlers into five unique battle systems. In one game type, boards can switch from Puyo Puyo to Tetris back and forth, while in another, both sets of pieces pile into the same board. This forces players to not only think two steps ahead of their opponent but two steps ahead of the game itself.
