Nintendo Switch: 10 Game Reveals You Might Have Missed

3. Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap

Retro platformers such as the wildly successful Shovel Knight have proven that classic gameplay is hard to beat. Wonder Boy 3 is one of the forgotten kings of platforming action, and it's making a triumphant return to the Switch.

Wonder Boy 3: The Dragon's Trap was the third in Sega's Wonder Boy series, released on the Sega Master System. Almost 28 years later, Lizardcube and DotEMU are publishing a gorgeous hand-drawn remake of the game.

Wonder Boy 3 sees players taking on 5 different forms: Travel the land as a lion man, a dragon, a merman, and plenty more, collecting coins and power-ups in a non-linear adventure crossing deserts to swamps to castles.

Even if you don't have a single bit of nostalgia for Wonder Boy, it's hard to not fall in love with this retro history lesson.
