Nintendo Switch: 10 Harsh Truths Nobody Wants To Admit

9. Breath Of The Wild Won't Be There At Launch

When Breath Of The Wild was first delayed, many assumed it was so that the game could be ported to Nintendo's next console - at the time referred to as the Nintendo NX. It made sense - the same thing happened with Twilight Princess, which was ported from the Gamecube to the Wii. In that situation, Twilight Princess was a Wii launch title.

When it was announced Breath Of The Wild would be available on the Switch, most people assumed the exact same thing was going to happen, and that the Switch would see Zelda as an amazing launch title.

Unfortunately, however, that doesn't seem to be the case. Several prominent and reliable leakers have confirmed the game still has quite a bit of localisation work to be done, and that the game won't be available until summer 2017 at the very earliest.

Couple that with the fact that every time Nintendo brings the game up they say it's available in 2017 rather than March 2017 (the month the Switch is releasing) and it becomes pretty clear fans won't be playing Zelda when they first pick up their Nintendo Switch. This, despite the fact so many gamers are eager to buy a Switch just for Zelda.
