Nintendo Switch: 10 Harsh Truths Nobody Wants To Admit
8. The Console's Lineup Is Dominated By Ports
Look, it's totally understandable that Nintendo wants to get more value out of the many incredible games that released on the Nintendo Wii U but that so few people actually got to play, I get that. But the fact is, the Nintendo Switch is a brand new console, which means it should be a home for new experiences. But its launch lineup (as well as its lineup for the rest of the year) is currently dominated by ports.
If you want to get technical, Zelda: Breath Of The Wild is a port of a Wii U game, even though it's now going to be remembered as a Switch title. But even if you don't, it's undeniable that every other game in the Switch reveal trailer bar one is a port:
Mario Kart 8, Splatoon... hell, even Skyrim: Special Edition will be almost half a year old by the time the Switch is available.
Then there's the rest of the year's lineup which has been confirmed by multiple reliable leakers, stating the Switch is set to see a port of Super Smash Bros Wii U and a port of Super Mario Maker. For Wii U owners it's a depressingly redundant library so far.
