Nintendo Switch Online: 10 More SNES Games It Desperately Needs
3. Final Fantasy VI
One of the most beloved titles in one of gaming’s most enduring series, Final Fantasy VI is an epic story filled with triumph and heartache.
The game was originally released in the west as Final Fantasy III because not every title in the series saw release outside Japan. Nonetheless, it has the polish of a game built on the shoulders of five previous iterations.
At the time it was the ultimate 2D Final Fantasy title and it would remain that way as Final Fantasy VII saw the series make the leap to 3D(and abandon Nintendo for Sony’s newfangled PlayStation).
While going 3D might seem like a fairly decisive break from the past, VI’s cinematic storytelling was already pointing towards the series future and it’s one of the game’s more compelling features. The storytelling is even more impressive considering the game’s multiple, customisable protagonists. The ability to vary your party offers plenty of replay value, making FFVI even more desirable for Switch.
