8. The System Is A Blend Of All Nintendo's Hardware - Except Virtual Console?

The presentation/media reveal was split into two distinct halves: the first half centred around the controller methods and the hardware itself, confirming a number of details about the JoyCons and their functionality.

The second half went all-in on the games with a number of titles shown off: Splatoon 2, Super Mario Odyssey, Xenoblade Chronicles 2...

Except, curiously, there was no mention anywhere in the presentation of any Virtual Console service.

This is likely a given since it's been part of Nintendo's home console and handheld strategy since it first started in Wii some ten-and-a-bit years ago. But it was strange to see it go completely unmentioned given that it's made a good deal of money for Nintendo and that fans are rather desperate to know whether the new Nintendo Network ID truly will let them access titles already bought using the eShop and/or Virtual Console service.
