You won't just be able to lay your hands on a charcoal black/grey JoyCon. Neon red and blue individual JoyCons were shown - although sold separately. The design of the system does mean that you have 2 controllers in the box right from the off, however.

HD rumble was one feature demonstrated, promising the possibility to feel what it's like to be holding a glass full of ice-cubes. Nintendo promised that you could even distinguish between how many individual cubes were inside the non-existent glass.

Elsewhere, IR and motion controls were confirmed for each JoyCon as they have accelerometers and gyroscopes just as the Wii remotes and Wii U gamepad have always had. This strongly hints that Wii games will be available as part of the (still unannounced) Virtual Console service.

The left JoyCon will have a capture button which will at launch offer the chance to take screenshots. Video capture will be a feature added some time later. In the box you'll also get two wrist straps that click into the JoyCons much in the same way the JoyCons click into the central controller dock. These have their own shoulder buttons

Lastly, hand gesture recognition was confirmed with the right JoyCon having a camera on it. The examples given were rock-paper-scissors. I wish all developers the best of luck getting that feature to work seamlessly in-game!
