No Man’s Sky: 10 Huge Changes That Finally Make It Worth Playing
5. Low-Altitude Dogfights & Land Vehicles
At some point I'll stop saying "Yet another thing that was lied about and now fixed", but Atlas Rises really does address every last fib told across No Man's Sky's development - in this case adding low-altitude flight.
Though it was seldom seen in the 2016 edition as the majority of your fighting happened in space, it was possible for ships and craft to get closer to ground for more intense duels. However, there was always an invisible barrier some ways off the ground, stopping you from zipping through valleys or cliffsides to chase your prey.
Once again this is fixed. Now you can go all the way down to the ground and even crash your ship if you're not careful. It factors into the various bounty hunter targets that encourage low-level flight, and is all-round a very welcome addition.
Also added in an older update but worth repeating are a number of 'Exocraft'; a variety of land vehicles like speedy buggies or laser-topped HGVs - both of which help immensely when getting around.
