No Man's Sky: 10 Core Gameplay Features You Need To Know About
5. It Has A GTA-Style Wanted System If You Get Carried Away
Sorry, wannabe Darth Vaders and Empire-builders of the land, you're going to need to be quick with your blaster to survive causing a ruckus in this galaxy far, far away. Murray's Gamespot interview offered this illuminating detail:
"Much like in Grand Theft Auto, there is a wanted level that ascends from one to five stars. Plundering too many of a planet's minerals will alert drones and sentinels--small security bots that will engage unless your kleptomania is kept to a minimum."
Player Rob Crossley added that "the law must be respected in deep space. A two-star wanted level will summon police vehicles, while a five-star level will bring in freighters carrying police ships."
In an IGN playthrough it was clear that even smaller acts of violence like raining fire down on a locked door will still draw the attention of the fuzz, so you'll have to watch your every step - especially seeing as you're the foreign invader, and everyone you're coming across has likely lived there for years.
