Overwatch 2: 10 Big Reveals From Blizzcon 2019
5. Monte Carlo, Toronto, Gothenburg, And Rio De Janeiro Maps
Some new maps were teased in Overwatch 2's gameplay trailer, and information coming from the convention have included the names of most of the cities they're set in: Monte Carlo in Monaco, Toronto in Canada, Gothenburg in Sweden, and Rio De Janeiro in Brazil.
Some of these locations already have narrative significance in Overwatch, such as Rio De Janeiro being Lucio's home turf and the location for another omnic attack, as presented in Blizzcon's story mode demo.
Though unrelated to past events, the Toronto map appears to be accompanying Overwatch's upcoming Canadian hero, Sojourn. Monaco is Talon omnic money-man Maximilien's base of operations, and Sweden likely features Torbjorn's own base or factory, briefly viewed in the gameplay trailer.
There's another map featured in the trailer with an Infinity War-looking giant wheel in the sky, as of yet unnamed, though the buildings make it seem middle or South Asian.
It's since been announced that these maps will be available in the main Overwatch game for PVP and other existing modes, but Overwatch 2 will likely have them for PVE story quests.
