Reinhardt styles himself like the classical knights of legend, complete with full body armour, spiked helm and – less traditionally – a massive hammer and energy shield. Thanks to his awesome armour, almost all of Reinhardt’s skins are something to behold. Paragon deserves special shout out; its white and gold colour scheme making the hero look every inch like a Disney prince.

As a young man, Reinhardt joined The Crusaders, a German paramilitary group who fought during the Omnic Crisis. The leader of The Crusaders was Balderich von Adler, who is represented in-game as a skin. The Balderich skin manages to make Reinhardt’s usual armour look cheap and disposable. It drips with intricate and opulent detail, being fur-lined with gold and blue patterning, and a winged helmed which hints at the rest of the skin’s subtle griffon theming. The skin is so stunning it could very well be the best in the entire game.

Never one to avoid the darker sides of war, the designers also created the Griefhardt skin, which sees Balderich covered in dirt, moss and overgrown plant life. This is a stark reminder that even the biggest heroes are eventually forgotten. Luckily the Balderich skin will always be there to see the hero during his prime.
