The alternate reality game which surrounded the launch of Mexico’s best hacker was famously long-winded, but thankfully Sombra’s eventual release gave players an enjoyable character with an interesting moveset.

At some point in her past, Sombra joined Dorado’s revolutionary Los Muertos group, and this is represented by her skin of the same name which gives the character a glow-in-the-dark skeleton motif and a punky pink Mohawk; the gang’s uniform of choice. This is actually a recolour of Azúcar, Sombra’s best skin, which adopts a neon Day of the Dead aesthetic. Azúcar is Spanish for sugar, a reference to sugar skulls and an ironic nod to the characters notable lack of sweetness, well suited to her sassy personality.

Sombra’s other legendaries, Augmented and Cyberspace, make her resemble the type of glamourous super-hacker you might find in Tron or The Matrix. Tulum, named after a Mexican town famous for its beaches, turns her into a tourist-like snorkeler.

Sombra has a good number of decent skins but Azúcar is surely the one which best represents the character, being proudly Mexican and effortlessly bad ass.
