Overwatch Halloween Terror 2018: Ranking Every Skin
1. Wrecking Ball - Jack-O-Lantern
This costume is just genius. It’s so inventive and so obviously Halloweeny, this has to be one of the most coveted event skins Overwatch have ever put out.
Wrecking Ball (or Hammond, technically) doesn’t always enjoy the popularity of say, Genji, with the fans. None of the characters are hated, but if Wrecking Ball gets another couple of skins like this, he’s going to swiftly climb in the popularity stakes.
With the nature of this character and his reliance on his mech, it’s not surprising that most - if not all - of Wrecking Ball’s skins to date have been a little bland. He’s similar to Pharah in that regard. This Halloween skin eschews this marvellously, giving him a huge, mechanical Jack-O-Lantern to ride around in. It’s like if Wild Wild West was made by goths. And Will Smith was a hamster. And it was actually good. Okay, maybe it’s not like Wild Wild West.
It fully uses every inch of the character too. While Widowmaker’s design team clearly broke for an early lunch, Wrecking Ball’s must have stayed late. It’s creativity like this that gives fans something to look forward to.
