Overwatch: Ranking Every Cinematic Short (So Far)

Encapsulating the entirety of what Overwatch stands for, Recall presents Winston as the heart and soul of the story, and the truly heroic optimism he has to contrast with the tired, beaten down spirit of the other members of the organisation.

Recall kicks off the call to bring Overwatch back years after its fall, with super-intelligent moon gorilla Winston wishing to help the world in response to the anarchy and suffering it's experiencing. The short cuts between his current lonely existence with his past as a baby gorilla on the moon, raised by a kindly and hopeful scientist named Harold Winston.

These two tie together as Winston's home in the Gibraltar base is invaded by Reaper and a slew of Talon soldiers, Reaper trying to extract the identities of Overwatch agents. Though Winston is able to neutralise this particular attack, he's convinced to recall all Overwatch agents still out in the world, kicking off the organisation's second incarnation.

This recall features in almost every other cinematic, and is the centre-point for Overwatch's developing plot. Other agents are coming to respond to the call, from Genji to McCree to Mei. It's just the right story to get people excited for Overwatch's future.
