PES 2019: 10 Tips To Play Like A Boss
6. Never Switch Advanced Strategies Mid-Play
In real football, tactical switches usually occur when the ball is out of play or when a substitution is being made. It'd be potentially suicidal for a manager to wait until rivals were attacking before suddenly deciding that hey, those defenders should be playing an offside trap rather than going man-for-man.
PES 2019 follows that kind of thinking, and there's no 'potentially' about it. Switch your advanced strategies mid-play and you're going to make it easy for the team you're trying to beat.
Players seem to get confused in PES when tinkering too much. It's better to have a solid game plan when the ball's in motion, then think about changing whatever isn't working during breaks. Trust us: sticking to a tactic you're fairly unsure about is far preferable to switching on the fly and causing players to have colossal brainfarts.
The same is true when attacking yourself. Switching flanks, for example, is a nuisance when looking to score. Wingers don't switch quickly, and that eliminates some of the attacking threat from your play. The fewer switches, the better.
