PlayStation 5: 8 New Rumours You Need To Hear

The Last of Us Part II is one of the most anticipated PlayStation exclusives in the pipeline, even though the zombie sequel doesn't have an official release date yet.

A recent report has shed light on when Joel and Ellie's next adventure might land, and indeed which consoles it might land on.

According to YouTube channel RobinGaming, The Last of Us Part II's composer Gustavo Santaolalla thinks the Naughty Dog title is on course for release in 2019, and he should know since he's scoring it right now.

“It’ll be done in 2019. No, I don’t know exactly when it will come out, but a project like this usually takes at last two years to make.
“I’ve been working on it now for about a year, and after my last concert at the 28 of October, I will be travelling to LA to keep working on the game.”

Word that The Last of Us Part II could be in line for a 2019 release has sparked intense speculation that it could be a PlayStation 5 launch title, and there may be a nugget of truth in this. The original Last of Us was one of the final PS3 exclusives, and it went on to find its way to PS4 in remastered form.

If Michael Pachter's prediction of a 2019 release for Sony's next console turns out to be accurate, there's a good chance Joel and Ellie will find their way to both platforms.
