PlayStation 5: 8 New Rumours You Need To Hear
5. Just Cause's Developer Is Working On A PS5 Game
One of the first blockbuster PlayStation 5 releases is likely to come from Just Cause maker Avalanche Studios, as the developer is hiring staff for next-gen projects.
The firm has posted a job ad seeking programmers for its new sandbox engine, which will likely be tailored for the PS5 and the Xbox One's successor.
This advert also hinted at what the studio will be focusing on in the next hardware generation, specifically mentioning destructible environments in multiplayer gaming.
"As a Senior Multiplayer Programmer you will influence the architecture and drive the implementation of all multiplayer technology in the Avalanche Apex engine.
"This is a great opportunity to work with some of the most complex and rewarding challenges in game development today; open worlds, sandbox gameplay and highly destructible multiplayer environments.
"As with most multiplayer development, a keen sense of fun gameplay and that 6th sense for what gives the perfect "feeling" are both key aspects for this role."
There's a good chance the successful candidate here will be working on a next-generation entry in the Just Cause series, given that the franchise is all about destructible environments.
Either way, Avalanche could well have a game out on PS5 at launch if they are already planning one now.
