2. Expect Further Refinements For The DualShock Controller
It's a given, isn't it? All anyone needs to do is compare the DualShock 4 with its predecessor to discern how many quality of life improvements Sony made in the transitional period between console generations, and given how far technology has come in the four years since PS4's launch, it's fair to expect further iterations to the gamepad's endearing design.
Drastic redesigns are always an option but fixing what isn't broken never results in a good situation for anyone. Rather, new features similar in scale to the DualShock 4's touchpad and microphone will likely be on the cards. The Play Share button will undoubtedly have its functions expanded in some fashion and, expanding speculative focus just a tad, a form of miniature screen integrated directly onto the controller is a possibility.
Non-gimmicky dual-screen technology has become a staple of Nintendo hardware since the launch of the original DS, but if Sony can come up with a means to justify such a feature - say, a hybrid console, perhaps? - then we're all for it...
