7. Spyro The Dragon: Year Of The Dragon (PSOne)

I had real difficulty deciding which of the Spyro games would feature on this list, but I finally settled on the third game in the original series. Spyro was, as I'm sure you've guessed, a dragon, and his missions have included saving all the dragon elders, saving dragon eggs, talismans, as well as many other items spread throughout a colourful world, packed with tons of well-designed levels. Year of the Dragon sees Spyro calling upon four new friends to help him on his quest to save all the dragon eggs from an evil Sorceress. The nice aspect to the game was the ability to play as these four new characters in their own levels, along with side quests in the normal missions. This feature freshened up the whole franchise and was praised by critics and fans of Spyro alike. Year of the Dragon is somewhat the pinnacle of the series, as the games didn't have the same quality when they made the change to PS2.
